Sociabilidad y exilio. Perón entre los españoles del franquismo, 1960-1973

Abstract

In this article we address the local relations maintained by Juan Domingo Perón during his years of exile in Madrid. Apart from his contacts with Argentinean supporters and politicians, who fluctuated over more than a decade but which proved effective for his return in 1973, the former president organized his life by agreeing to deal with those who ideologically shown him more affinity: from the historical Francoists and the Falangist, the Third World positions supporters to all those who expressed criticism to the US and Imperialism. Surrounded by the popularity of the cereal supply during his administration and the international support granted during his government, the attendance of some circles - such as journalists close to Falangism and the military imbued with the spirit of July 18 - served Peron for his mediate and immediate purposes, however covered with distrust the links with the sectors that were the prevalent ones in the Francisco Franco’s regime in the years 60, officials that managed the Spanish developmentism. To those Spanish technocract, of catholic filiation, but liberal, atlantistas and partial to the foreign investments, Latin America was a space of economic expansion, where the Argentina was a square of privileged attention, despite it was governed by military, Perón or by his movement.
